Sally Jessy Raphael's daytime talk show, the longest-running of its genre, has been canceled after nearly two decades on the air. But don't blame us!

Survey about Calendar 2002 sent to 400 past customers. Results: 96% rated it excellent, 95% want us to do a 2003 calendar and would purchase an average of 2.24 calendars each.

Building Committee makes a list of work to be done on the Community Center.

Community meeting to talk about what to do with calendar money.

With most of the work done in the downstairs of the Center, except painting, we have a big Community Clean-up day so we can start using the building again.

The Maple Corner Community Center holds it's annual meeting. At the meeting, the board presented their decisions on spending/investing calendar profits, and announced the decision to go ahead with a Men of Maple Corner calendar for 2003. They also presented proposed by-law changes and a slate of candidates for the new board, which was voted on.

The Men of 2002 march in the Montpelier, Vt. parade. See the Times Argus article. See "Mr. July" being attacked and kissed by an unknow wild middle aged woman.

Board Meeting of the Maple Corner Community Center: the Calendar Committee is selected and given the OK to proceed with work

The Calendar Committee meets to pick Men from "the hat", using the previously published selection process . Winners to be announced soon. We may start taking photos in as soon as a week.

First photos taken - Craig Line took photos of all the men in front of the Curtis Pond dam, in what we hope to be our cover shot. Also present, 2 TV stations, AP, and many reporters. WCAX will be showing some of this on the 11PM news tonight

People have told me they heard the Men on radio, Vermont and New Hampshire Public Radio, and on FOX TV as far away as Washington state. Web server gets 35,000 hits today.

More photos being taken for the individual months, but the weather turned cloudy and we only got Eric done, our second month. The Men are seen on TV in Boston, and on CNN. Website hits today: 59,000

More haying, and then a quick hike. Afterwards we all go out for maple creemies.

Photos taken of the Mr.s December in hockey skates at the rink, then back to Maple Corner to watch the Maple Corner Men for Decency protest rally.(see photos) After that, back down to the Statehouse in Montpelier to recieve our Proclamations from the legislature.

All photos are picked, and at the designers. We expect to have final proofs of the calendar early next week to check and send to the printer.

Friday afternoon, Chris and Steve pick up 10,000 priority mailing boxes from the Montpelier, VT post office. That's 6000 pounds of boxes. It took 2 loads filling a van with a trailer behind both trips.

Friday morning we pick up 3000 calendars and deliver to bookstores in Montpelier, Essex, and Burlington, Vt. We pick up our first batch of hats and T-shirts and bring them back to Maple Corner.

Start off of the 42nd Calais Fall Foliage Festival with a tug-of war between the 2002 calendar boys and the 2003 guys, with about 150 spectators, and broadcast live on WDEV. Sad to say, but the new guys won, so I guess they're younger and better looking. Following the "war", we all had breakfast, and sold calendars at the Community Center.

Some bookstores already sold out and we send out a request for volunteers to help with bookstore deliveries. The calendars, hats, and T-shirts are all selling well.

Second batch of mail order shipped out in our Priority Mail boxes. We will probably be mailing out calendars about 2 times per week.

The calendar signing in Montpelier was alot of fun. I think we had all 16 guys they at one point.

While this might not be Historical and Groundbreaking news to everyone, We in Maple Corner are pleased and proud to announce that as of the end of October, and only 4 weks since the calendar was printed, we have sold over $100,000 worth of our 2003 calendars, actually about $119,000, including T-shirts and hats. Also, please remember that 100% of the profit from these sales are going to community based non-profit groups. Click Here to see where the money is going!!

Our calendar manager, Chris Miller, "Mr. February, 2002" talked to the famous Tom and Ray of the Car Talk show on Public Radio. If they use his question, it will be on the air Saturday, Nov. 16th. They get 10,000 calls per week, and talk to 10 per week, so we are already 1 in a thousand. Click here to listen. Chris is the second caller in this segment
